3rd jan
did a reckky of vancouver after a bit of a chill out and lay in. bought laptop......am excited but have not had much time to play on it yet... its freezing outside and its a wet damp cold. they have had 3ft of snow here in the last few days and everyone is moaning as they do not usually get 3ft a year in vancouver. there seems to be loads to see and do so do not think we will get as far as whistler being as i cannot ski anyway.

4th jan
breakfast, then vancouver toured on foot... went to check out downtown and the harbour area and then stanley park. was dissapointed that there were no horse and carriage rides in the park. found out they only work in the summer but saw 'the girl in the bathing suit' statue, which i had read about. alsdo enjoyed the views of the mountains, sun tower, canneries and exhibition centres, we walked loads, learned loads it was fantastic. robin complained his feet ached and instead of going into the aquariam (may do tomorrow) found a cab and went to gastown to the spag factory for food... then went to the imaz theatre to see space 3d and sea3d which were enlightening. It was snowing when we left the imax and i tripped and jarred my arm so we caught a taxi back to the hotel. i would have gone on my new toy (computer) but my arm hurt too much. while we were at the park jim and i discussed some books we could write so it seems he would like me to write too. perhaps park bench inscriptions throughout the world, perhaps kids books or cook books but with encouragement i think i can, just not yet......
